Information Dissemination
Information asymmetry is one of the major hurdles in citizens’ access to public services. Lack of information, especially in rural areas, causes them to miss out on their rights and entitlements. Samarthan has established State Resource Centre (SRC) both in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, which undertakes the function of information collection, producing compact and easy-to-read communication materials and large-scale dissemination. The centre is also a repository for research and training reports on issues of Governance, Education, Health, and Gender etc. There are more than 200 CDs and Cassettes on various developmental issues
Samarthan has also launched a telephone help line (0755-2424410) for common citizens to give information on the Right to Information and social security schemes. Trained staffs from Samarthan handle calls and address various issues raised by citizens.
