TRAINING CENTRE

In its commitment to provide an enabling environment for growth of civil society and learning through infrastructural support, Samarthan has set up a training centre in Bhopal called the Academy of Civil Society Leaders which acts as a State Resource Centre. Spread in an area of 1100 sq. ft it has state of art facilities that include a conference hall (AC/ Non AC), LCD projector equipped, and all sorts of training facilities. The campus also has open spaces and small meeting rooms for conducting participatory training exercises. The hostel provides accommodation for 40 participants in its well equipped rooms and dormitories. Separate stay arrangements are available for female and male participants. The centre also has a spacious dining hall.

The Centre in its pursuit of information dissemination has a well stocked library and a computer centre. To complement these efforts the resource centre is being updated annually in terms of quantity and quality of information. There are about 2000 books on Panchayat issues, Education, Health, Gender, Capacity building, Research and various other development issues. The state resource centre subscribes to about 40 periodicals/magazines, the major being EPW, Yojana, Civil Society etc. The centre is also a repository of reports of research studies and trainings on issues of Governance, Education, Health, and Gender etc. Audio-visual aids - The centre has around 200 CDs and Cassettes on various developmental issues. The centre also has a large collection of learning material on participatory training.
