Mahuvariya Panchayat has a dalit woman Sarpanch

The upper caste people were against her and they did not want to do her any work. Whenever she wanted to carry out a aprticular activity, the upper caste would lodge complaints against her at the Janpad and district level. Keeping this the district official issued a letter and asked the Sarpanch to stop all the developmental activities in the Panchayat.

The woman Sarpanch met with the officials of the network and told the whole story to them. Officials of the network raised this issue before the CEO Panchayat at the district level and requested him to set up an enquiry against all the complaints lodged against the Sarpanch. They also requested to CEO that a person from network must also be nominated in the inquiry committee. In the inquiry it was found that the entire allegation that were made against the Sarpanch were false. After that district administration withdrew her earlier order and the Sarpanch started the developmental activities in the Panchayat.

Mahesiya, an OBC Sarpanch of the Ramgarh Panchayat of Sidhi block although an illiterate was committed to the development of her Panchayat. The shopkeeper of the ration shop in her panchayat never supplied the sugar to the villagers. Whenever Mahesiya inquired about the availability of sugar, the shopkeeper would start making excuses.

Once Mahesiya came to know that the owner of the ration shop was selling the sugar, allotted to his shop, in black. Fllowing which she started keeping an eye on him.

One night a truck came to Ramgarh village on which the quota of the shop was loaded. Mahesiya came to the shopkeeper and asked about the truck and the commodities loaded on the truck. Shopkeeper once again pretended that the commodities were for the other villages.

Mahesiya knew about his lie and was therefore prepared. She had already sent some of the Panches to a nearby police station. She herself hung to the back of the truck, and when the truck reached the village the Police personnel were already waiting for them.Police stopped the truck and asked the driver about the commodities. After some inqiries the police arrested the truck driver and shopkeeper along with commodities.
