Youth in Janpur Bawadiya shut down an illegal arrack shopThe village of Janpur Bawadia is situated 12 km from the district headquarters. There are 300 families and its total population is 3200. The youth facilitators are Mr Mahesh Parmar and Ms Hemlata Patel. The most prominent achievement has been the shutting down of an illegal arrack shop. One of the locals had started supplying alcohol illegally to workers in the bridge construction project on the outskirts of the village. The girls group came to know about the illegal activity from one of its members and it consulted with the boys. Both the boys and girls feared that consumption of alcohol would ruin families. They took village elders in their confidence. The Panchayat filed an application before the district collector who took action. The police apprehended the seller while he was in the process of buying the alcohol from the supplier. Home >> About Us >> Success Stories >> Sehore
