Youth in Khandwa improve the functioning of health and education personnelThe village of Khandwa is situated 18 km from the district headquarters. There are 600 families and its total population is 3446. The youth facilitators are Mr Mahesh Maheshwari and Ms Nirmala Maheshwari. The main problem is inadequacy in health services. Their PHC does not have a doctor while the ANM was not diligent in her work. Earlier no one in the village knew about the ANM and the purpose of her visit. She filled the health data of the surveys herself without informing anyone. The group of boys and girls made the villagers aware and now they inquire about the status of their health card. The ANM has also started taking interest in her work and actively seeks to ensure full vaccination by going to each home to check the same. She also distributes iron tablets and medicines kept in the PHC. However the problem is that the PHC does not have a doctor since no one has been appointed for the past 8 years. There are two schools in the school – one is a mixed school which has been extended up to class 12 while the other is a girl’s school and is until class 8. The mixed school has 15 teachers but they arrived late and left early. The group of boys and boys went to the PTA which took action to ensure that the teachers came and left on time. In the junior girls’ school the teacher forced the students to attend to his needs by making tea and sweeping the floor. The boys group raised a protest and the teacher was forced to appoint a part time cleaner for the purpose. Home >> About Us >> Success Stories >> Sehore
